THE BRITs POV PRESENTER RECRUITMENT
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(“TERMS”)

1.    The BRITs POV Presenter Role

1.1    We, BRIT Awards Limited, in connection with S:E Creative Studio, are seeking presenters for our dynamic and engaging new short video series The BRITs POV.

1.2    The BRITs POV is a video series about music and pop culture to be posted on BRITs social media accounts. The selected presenters will research, script, host and edit their own videos for The BRIT Awards social channels, based around music news or pop culture stories that they are passionate about, creating content that stands out on social feeds.

1.3    We are seeking candidates who: 

(a)    are aged 18 or over and live in the UK;

(b)    are creative, charismatic, and talented individuals and are eager to embark on a professional presenting career;

(c)    have a passion for pop culture and celebrity news;

(d)    possess excellent communication skills and are comfortable and confident in front of the camera;

(e)    have a knack for storytelling and engaging with audiences;

(f)    are able to self-shoot on their phone and edit simple social videos.

1.4    We strongly encourage candidates of all social and cultural backgrounds, genders, ethnicities, and sexual orientations to apply as well as candidates who identify as neurodiverse, d/Deaf or disabled.  

1.5    We will announce the selected presenters by 13th December 2024 in accordance with these Terms.

2.    Application

2.1    To apply, you must:

(a)    Login to a Google account and complete the application form, which can be found here;

(b)    create an original short video of a maximum duration of 60 seconds presenting a recent pop culture story or a piece of celebrity news. Be creative, be yourself and let your personality shine.

(c)    submit a short video of a maximum duration of 60 seconds, a voice note of a maximum duration of 60 seconds, or a written statement of no more than 200 words telling us about yourself and why you would love this opportunity.

The content mentioned in items (b) and (c) above will be referred together as “Application Content”.

2.2    You can also submit, as optional, your social media handles. You will not be disadvantaged if you decide not to provide your social media handles.

2.3    You must submit your application by no later than 23:59 BST on 18th September 2024, by:

(a)    completing the application form found here;  and

(b)    uploading your Application Content within the form.

2.4    Any application received after 23:59 BST on 18th September 2024 is automatically disqualified.

2.5    We will not accept:

(a)    responsibility for application submissions that are lost, mislaid, corrupted, damaged or delayed, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or

(b)    transmission as proof of receipt of application.

2.6    By submitting your application, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and to comply with the relevant Google’s Terms of Service here.

3.    Shortlist and Selection

3.1    A team of content producers from S:E Creative Studio and members of the digital team from BRIT Awards Limited will form a panel (“Selection Panel”) to view and assess candidates’ Application Content for the purposes of shortlisting the candidates and selecting the final The BRITs POV presenters.

3.2    Shortlisted candidates will be invited to online interviews over Zoom with at least 3 (three) members of the Selection Panel. The Selection Panel will then invite the selected candidates for a Screening Day.

3.3    The selected candidates will be invited to take part in a Screening Day organised by S:E Creative Studio. This will include more information about the BRITs and The BRITs POV, with selected candidates being invited to record some test footage with producers. Reasonable travel expenses will be covered.

3.4    Upon completion of the Screening Day, the Selection Panel will reconvene to decide the successful candidates, who will then be offered an agreement with S:E Creative Studio to provide, on a freelance basis, content to the BRITs social media channels. That agreement will be subject to S:E Creative Studio carrying out satisfactory background checks and the candidate being entitled to work in the UK without any additional approvals.

3.5    We do not guarantee future continuous work for The BRITs POV.

3.6    We may require you to provide proof that you created and produced the Application Content at any time.

3.7    We will not accept your application if:

(a)    the Application Content or any parts thereof contain statements which are defamatory to any person, violent, obscene, or which violate or infringe any third party’s rights and/or contain anything that would bring us, The BRITs channels, The BRITs POV or artist or celebrity into disrepute;

(b)    the Application Content or any parts thereof are automatically generated by computer or created by artificial intelligence (including but not limited to chatbots such as ChatGPT or similar software applications);

(c)    it was completed by third parties or in bulk;

(d)    it contains any corrupted files.

3.8    We will accept only one application per candidate. Applications on behalf of another person will not be accepted.

3.9    Application materials cannot be returned.

3.10    Our decision on the shortlisted candidates and selected presenters is final and we will not engage in any correspondence or discussion regarding our decision. We will not provide feedback to unsuccessful applications.

4.    Ownership of Application Content and intellectual property rights

4.1    All applications and any accompanying material submitted by candidates will become our property and will not be returned.

4.2    The candidates warrant, represent and undertake that: (i) the Application Content are original and their use in accordance with this Terms will not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party; and (ii) the Application Content will not contain any defamatory matter, breach any contract, law or duty of confidentiality, infringe data protection rights or constitute contempt of court or obscenity.

4.3    By submitting your application, you agree to assign to us absolutely all your intellectual property rights held in Your Content with full title guarantee and waive absolutely all moral rights.

5.    Data protection and publicity

5.1    The application forms and details contained therein will be used by us and S:E Creative Studio for recruitment purposes.

5.2    We will only process your personal information provided in your application as set out in our Privacy Policy, found here. The personal information in your application is collected and used for the purpose of us communicating with you about this recruitment process. By submitting your application, you have expressly agreed to collection, use, transfer and handling of your personal information by us for the purposes described above.

6.    General

6.1    You will behave in a professional, co-operative, sensible and courteous way during any stage of the recruitment process and in no circumstance should you display any unacceptable behaviour towards any other candidates or members of the Selection Panel.

6.2    We may, at our sole discretion, exclude you from the recruitment process if we believe that:

(a)    you have breached these Terms;

(b)    any of your present or past behaviour, actions and/or social media activity may cause any reputational damage to us, The BRITs or The BRITs POV.

6.3    You will not at any time disclose to any person any confidential information concerning the recruitment process, our business, assets, affairs, customers, clients or suppliers, except as may be required by law, a court of competent jurisdiction or any governmental or regulatory authority.

6.4    These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts of England and Wales.
