Producer and Songwriter of the Year revealed!
With only one day to go until the biggest night in British Music, The BRIT Awards 2023 with Mastercard today announce the recipients of the Producer of the Year and Songwriter of the Year awards, with all other winners set to be revealed on the night itself.
David Guetta - who will perform on the show joined by Becky Hill and Ella Henderson - has been named the recipient of this year’s Producer of the Year award. Also nominated for International Song of the Year, the 2x Grammy winning French DJ and producer has not only sold 50 million albums worldwide, achieved over 37 billion global streams and 7 x UK No. 1 singles , he has produced for some of the world’s biggest artists including Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, The Black Eyed Peas and collaborated with artists such as Sia, Nicki Minaj and Anne-Marie and many more. David Guetta has been behind some of the UK's biggest tracks of 2022: the double-Platinum selling hit ‘Remember’ with Becky Hill, which enjoyed another big moment in 2022 when it went viral on TikTok, the Top 5, Platinum-selling ‘Crazy What Love Can Do’ with Ella Henderson and Becky Hill, and the No. 1 and 1 billion streamed global hit ‘I’m Good’ with Bebe Rexha.

The BRIT award for Producer of the Year has been voted on by a panel of A&R executives drawn from across the recorded music sector.
Kid Harpoon, who co-wrote and co-produced the GRAMMY-Award winning album Harry’s House by Harry Styles, is announced as winner of the Songwriter of the Year award. Kid Harpoon will be presented with his award on the iconic BRITs red carpet. This award was introduced in 2022 with Ed Sheeran as the inaugural recipient. Alongside writing credits for artists including Florence + The Machine, Jessie Ware, Shakira, Mabel and Years & Years, Kid Harpoon (aka Tom Hull), has written on all three of Harry Styles’ studio albums, which all hit the top spot in the UK charts as well as many international charts. Harry’s House was the biggest selling UK album (and fastest selling UK album) of 2022, not leaving the Top Ten since May of last year. Lead single ‘As It Was’, co-written by Kid Harpoon, was the UK’s biggest selling single of 2022 and has to date achieved over 2 billion global streams. Additionally, it garnered GRAMMY Award nominations for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. The BRIT award for Songwriter of the Year was decided by a panel of publishers from the recorded music sector.

British R&B group FLO were revealed as winners of the prestigious BRITs Rising Star award last year; the award that helps identify the future stars of British music that has been won by Adele, Florence & The Machine, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Griff and Holly Humberstone in previous years. The group - who have accumulated 100 Million+ global streams of their debut ‘The Lead’ EP and sold out their recently announced US tour in less than 3 mins - will be presented with their award on the BRITs Red Carpet show on ITV2, by a former winner of this award, the multi-million selling Jessie J. The group will also play a string of UK summer festivals including Wireless and TRNSMT with more to be announced soon.
This year’s BRITs is shaping up to be yet another memorable evening of live music and entertainment; hosted for a second year by award-winning comedian Mo Gilligan, with an extraordinary line-up of exciting newcomers and huge global talent set to perform: Cat Burns, David Guetta & Becky Hill & Ella Henderson, Harry Styles, Lewis Capaldi, Lizzo, Sam Smith & Kim Petras, Stormzy and Wet Leg.
Winners of award categories including Mastercard Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year with Mastercard and International Artist of the Year - as well as the four fan-voted genre awards introduced last year: Alternative/Rock, Dance, Hip Hop/Grime/Rap and Pop/R&B will be revealed, with each winner collecting a trophy designed by the Nigerian-born, London-based artist Slawn, who has created a striking design based on the concept of Opportunity, Gratitude and Celebration.
Earlier this week The BRITs revealed the full rundown of digital and social media activity planned around this year’s event; from the multi-platform Red Carpet Live stream hosted by Nella Rose and Michelle Visage and backstage area hosted by Jack Saunders, the #BRITsUnseen campaign on YouTube Shorts from Official Digital Music Partner YouTube Music along with an exclusive red carpet and backstage spot hosted by YouTube royalty Amelia Dimoldenberg and The Unknown Vlogs, the international live stream on YouTube for viewers outside of the UK, plus 500 BRITs Parties in homes across the UK thanks to Come Round.
2023 will mark 30 years of ITV as broadcast partner, 25 years of Mastercard as headline sponsor and 13 years with the show held at The O2 arena. All three long-standing partners support The BRITs’ ambition to host an unforgettable and far-reaching evening of live music and entertainment that, additionally, helps raise money for The BRIT Trust, the charitable arm of the awards, who distribute funds to charities that promote education and well-being through music, including The BRIT School and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.
Mastercard returns as headline partner of The BRIT Awards for the 25th year, bringing cardholders closer to their passion for music through a range of BRITs experiences. This year, Mastercard will continue to partner with The BRIT School to celebrate and give a platform to the next generation of creative talent and will again sponsor the much sought after Mastercard Album of the Year award, as well as Song of the Year with Mastercard.
