British Producer of the Year
We are honoured to announce that the recipient of British Producer of the Year is Steve Mac! Steve has produced records with worldwide sales of over 200 million over the course of his career, making him one of the UK’s most successful music producers right now. 2017 saw him co-write and produce Ed Sheeran’s No.1 single ‘Shape of You’ which became the most streamed track of all time and the highest selling UK single of the year. His production credits also included Top 10 singles by Liam Payne, Rita Ora and P!nk.On his win, Steve said: “I feel truly humbled to receive this prestigious award, especially as it’s voted for by my peers who I greatly respect. This really is the icing on the cake at the end of such an amazing year, not only for me personally but for British music.”
Steve also previously wrote and produced the BRIT Award winning single ‘Beat Again’ for JLS and has worked with former winners and nominees including Little Mix, Calvin Harris, One Direction and Charlie XCX.

Steve is an incredibly talented and versatile producer and the most worthy recipient of the Best British Producer Award after the most exceptional hit rate this past year."
Mac will receive his award during proceedings around The BRITs show on Wednesday 21 February at The O2, London. The Awards Show, hosted by Jack Whitehall, will be broadcast on ITV and will feature live performances from Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Stormzy with more performers being announced soon.
The nominations for the 2018 BRIT Awards will be revealed live on ITV during ‘The BRITs Are Coming’ on Saturday 13 January. The show will be hosted by Emma Willis, with live performances from Clean Bandit, J Hus, Jorja Smith, Liam Payne and Paloma Faith.
