BRITISH ARTIST VIDEO OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED
When it comes to the British Artist Video category, you decide the winner!
Once the vote opens, one act will be eliminated each week until just five remain for the ultimate vote-off on the night of the ceremony. The winner will be decided via a live social vote during The BRITs ITV broadcast on 22 February.
Adele is the nominee to beat, having won this very category (along with Global Success, British Female and Mastercard British Album of the Year) in 2016. These four awards brought Adele’s total BRITs haul to an impressive total of eight. This nomination is Adele’s second in this category - she won with ‘Hello’ last year.
Chart-topping Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has been nominated ten times previously but is still to win his first BRIT Award. His nomination for British Video is one of two this year; he’s also been nominated for British Single.
Little Mix are one of two acts to receive three nominations this year alongside Skepta. They are also nominated for British Group and British Single. Coldplay and Clean Bandit are nominated in two categories this year too - both are also nominated for British Single.
Having won in this category back in 2011 for his single ‘Pass Out’, Tinie Tempah is back alongside Swedish pop powerhouse Zara Larsson with the summer sensation ‘Girls Like.’ The song is also nominated in the British Single category.
Newcomers James Arthur and Jonas Blue & Dakota bring two massive singles from the 2016 to the table. With over 370 million YouTube views between them, they are strong contenders in this category.
Zayn is also a newcomer in this category with ‘Pillowtalk’, his debut single as a solo artist. The track went straight in at No. 1 in the UK charts upon release last January.
Zayn’s up against his former bandmates from One Direction who are nominated for their track, ‘History’. The band boast a total of six BRITs wins and have won this award three times in a row.
