Sam Smith wins British Breakthrough Act at The BRIT Awards 2015

Last year’s Critics’ Choice Award winner Sam Smith has won the British Breakthrough Act at The BRIT Awards 2015.

The winner of the British Breakthrough Act is selected following a public vote promoted by BRITs.co.uk and BBC Radio 1. Smith beat stiff competition from Chvrches, FKA twigs, George Ezra, and Royal Blood.

Smith’s debut album ‘In The Lonely Hour’ was released in May 2014 and went straight to No. 1 on the UK Album Chart. He has also had two further No. 1s with singles ‘Stay With Me’ and ‘Money On My Mind’.

Sam Smith will also perform his single ‘Lay Me Down’ live at this year’s BRIT Awards.
