British Female Solo Artist nominations announced

First-timers Ella Henderson and FKA twigs take on previous nominee Jessie Ware and BRITs regulars Lily Allen and Paloma Faith in a bid to win the award for British Female Solo Artist.

Lily Allen has been twice nominated for this category, in 2007 and again in 2010 when she won the award. This is Lily’s only win in six nominations across categories including British Single and MasterCard British Album.

Nominee Paloma Faith has also been up for British Female Solo Artist twice before, in 2011 and 2013. 2013 also saw Paloma’s album ‘Fall To Grace’ nominated for MasterCard British Album, though she ultimately lost out to Emeli Sandé in both categories.

Jessie Ware, who is performing at ‘The BRITs Are Coming’, was another of the 2013 British Female nominees. In the same year she was nominated for British Breakthrough Act, though she lost out to Ben Howard.

The BRIT Awards 2015 take place at London’s O2 Arena on 25 February and will be broadcast live on ITV at 8pm GMT. See all the nominations here.
