Nominations for International Group
Arcade Fire and Kings of Leon will go head to head in search of their third BRIT Award as both are up for International Group against Daft Punk, Haim and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. After the release of Reflektor, Arcade Fire will be looking to repeat the success they enjoyed in 2011 where they ended a five-year spell of disappointment by walking away with their first BRITs for this category and International Album.
Nominated for the ninth time, Kings of Leon have had a great year with the release of their sixth studio album Mechanical Bull and they will be hoping for another Award to take back to the Followill trophy cabinet.
Speaking of family affairs, sisters Haim are up for their first BRIT Award. Off the back of their debut album Days Are Gone, they’ve won a lot of fans in the past 12 months with their infectious personalities and uplifting music.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have also received their first BRIT nod after Thrift Shop went No. 1 worldwide, while Daft Punk, will be hoping to get lucky third time round as they’re up for International Group again after missing out in 1998 and 2002.
The BRIT Awards 2014 take place at London’s O2 Arena on February 19 and will be broadcast live on ITV at 8pm GMT. Click here for a list of all the nominees.
